HappyCulture launches HappyCulture Académie: a 100% free hospitality training program open to all

HappyCulture, the lifestyle hotel brand of the Honotel group, announces the launch of its YouTube channel HappyCulture Académie, an online continuing education program, accessible to all and 100% free of charge. This program responds to two major challenges: to promote the hotel industry’s often little-known professions, and to offer its employees and future employees free, accessible continuing education. Indeed, in the wake of the pandemic, recruiting and retaining talent has become a real challenge. With these videos, HappyCulture aims to modernize training and attract a new generation to a sector in full revival.

In 7 months, Happyculture has already put over 130 videos online, accumulating 300,000 views and engaging an ever-growing community. To date
5 key professions are highlighted, ranging from reception to room management and hotel management. And this is just the beginning! The brand plans to add
additional professions by the end of the year. These videos are making a major contribution to reducing turnover in certain critical professions, with a 71% drop for receptionists in the first half of 2024 compared with the first half of 2023.

“These videos are a real lever for recruitment. They enable us not only to attract more candidates, but also to reach out to profiles that we weren’t used to seeing apply.
used to seeing apply. Since launching the channel, we’ve seen a 788% increase in applications for receptionist positions vs. 2023. We’ve also received a lot of positive feedback from candidates who discovered the brand thanks to the YouTube channel. By showcasing the hospitality professions, we’ve managed to capture the interest of young talent and people undergoing retraining who wouldn’t necessarily have turned to this sector before,” says Marie Carrel, Human Resources Director.

In the coming months, HappyCulture Académie plans to enhance its online training offering with more diversified content, particularly aimed at the catering professions, with a launch scheduled for November 2024. HappyCulture also plans to extend the sharing of these videos on platforms such as TikTok to attract a younger audience and boost its visibility among 18-25 year-olds, a key age group for future recruitment.

The brand also wants to develop partnerships with hotel schools to integrate its videos into their teaching programs, while organizing hands-on interventions and workshops. After viewing the various training videos, a tool will be launched to enable users to apply directly via the Youîube videos after completing playlists and a quiz, thus simplifying the recruitment process and creating a direct link between training and employment.
